Terrain Specific Workshops

Our 'skils builder' program is progressive and multidimensional covering all aspect of trail riding. Often clients are aware of particular trail features that troubles them more specifically. For those that have a good general understanding of fundamental skills but have a particular area of their riding that they would like to work on we have developed a suite of workshops. The big three seem to be corners, roots and steeper terrain. If all three are a problem to you then you would be best looking to the skills builders as a starting point but if you want to polish you performance in a particular are a you can choose to focus on any of the following three areas:

Cutting corners:

If failure to keep your pace through corners (or get around them at all) is driving you round the bend then this session is for you. By stripping back this most  necessary of techniques to core skills, understanding why to and how to utilise them we will rebuild your confidence and technique.

  • Understand the fundamentals
  • Gain more grip and hold your line
    and carry more speed
  • Linked corners
  • Berms
  • Switchbacks
Steadily steeper & Steps

For many control (physical, mental or both) starts to starts to go as the gradient pitches up. After all the effort of getting up a hill it makes sense to enjoy the way down. Long gentile descents may not phase you but if you find any sudden loss of altitude a trail may deliver leaves your stomach in your mouth and your head in spin this course is for you.

  • Dealing with performance cues
  • Understanding sections
  • Speed control
  • Going with the flow
  • Long descents, Step downs, Short and steep

Root Master

Went it comes to trail features that are most often quoted by riders as a pet hate, roots (particularly wet ones) take the crown. Where there are trees and beautiful woodland trails you'll find roots. Dealing happily with roots will transform your single-track riding experience.

  • Dealing with single roots
  • Sprawling root sections
  • Roots on a camber
  • Roots on a steep
  • Roots on Lip

To get he most out of the root master session you need to be able to cope with steeper sections that are smoother, and to get the most out of steadily steeper you need already to be relatively happy with your cornering on the flat so if you were thinking of all three it would be beneficial to approach them in that order,
