If you are confident of basic skills and possess a reasonable level of fitness you may like to put your skills intoo practise by joining one of our grade guided rides. Join an open group ride and meet other riders of similar levels of fitness and technical ability.

Rides are graded so that whatever your level technical ability and fitness you will feel comfortably challenged.Typically rides will be between two and three hours covering distances of between 10 and 25 miles. The majority of rides will incorporate as much single track as possible much of which is exclusively used by mountain bikers.

These rides are more continuous than Skills Builder sessions and you'll cover more distance. The rides are led by qualified instructors so they will be on hand with tips and advice but the emphasis is on riding over instruction. Theses guided rides are a place to test your skills rather than learn them.

Level 1 - We deliberately do not have a Level 1 Open Group Ride - The best place to start if you dont have the skills or fitness for a Level 2 Open Group Guided ride you should first attend a Level 1 Skills Builder. These are the perfect way to begin enjoying the sport of mountain biking and will equip you with the skills to really start enjoying the terrain that is on offer.

Level 2 rides will introduce you to the wonders of off-road riding and have you heading for the single track that has made this area a Mecca for mountain bikers .

Level 2 - Having learnt the core skills level 2 rides will start to put them into practise. More distance and less instructional in content our guides will introduce you to some awesome flowing single track. There'll be small drop offs, and trail obstacles to overcome, but nothing to fill you full of fear. If you're looking to start challenging yourself and push the boundaries of your comfort zone this is for you. Distance 8-10 miles; Time 2.5hrs - 3 hrs.

Level 3 - Taking in some slightly steeper single track, and bigger drops. You'll need to be a little fitter than for lower levels as the pace is a little more constant. There'll be some technical climbs and plenty of flowing single track, most of the gnarllier stuff has 'easy-outs' if you want to save something for next visit! Ride distance 12 - 15 miles 2.5 - 3hrs

Level 4 - Happy to ride at a more constant pace and take trail obstacles in your stride, these rides are for those with a fair bit of experience under their belt. We'll ride straight into the majority of challenges although there'll be some allowance for time to ponder the more technical terrain Ride distance 15 - 18 miles 3hrs - 3.5 hours

Level 5 (Invitational) - Up for a challenge? You'll be riding the biggest and the best the hills have to offer - some of which you may want to save for another day. Lightening fast single track, technical descents, big drops and lungbusting climbs. You'll cover a lot of ground and be fuelled by adrenalin. Sorry but you'll have to have proved yourself on lower level rides before you'll get an invite. The pace and technical content is such that we wouldn't want you to feel you were out of your depth or holding up the group. Ride Distance 20 - 25 miles 3.5 - 4 hours
