2008 is well underway and rides and riders plentiful. There is a full Schedule of Open Group Rides for all abilities and fitness levels. Despite the growing popularity of our rides we will endeavour to keep group sizes smaller so that riders always get the best from the single track and focussed attention when under instruction.

2008 sees our Mountain Bike Skills training step up a gear with the addition of two further levels. Skills Builder courses are the perfect way to learn to mountain bike or further develop your existing skills allowing you to ride more fluidly, with more confidence and through increasingly more technical terrain. The focus is on offering qualified mountain bike instruction. You'll be introduced to a skills development system that is taking the mounatin bike world by storm. This skills development system is endorsed not only by the National Cyclists' Organisation, the CTC, but top riders like Rob Warner, Scott Beaumont & Helen Gaskell.

Surrey Hills All Terrain MTB are the only approved provider of this mountain bike skills training system in the South of England. It is as a result of their understanding and role in the development of the system that Surrey Hills All Terrain MTB are one of only two providers in the UK accredited with training the next generation of Mountain Bike Instructors

A full break down of what to expect from each level of skills instuction can be found on the web page MTB Skills Training. Whatever your level of ability our qualified instructors will take your mountain biking to new levels as you learn to understand your bike and how to be master of it rather than be a passenger.

Our instuctional sessions will be complimented with a range of Guided Rides taking in terrain selected to match and challenge the group's ability. For the 2008 season there will be five levels of ride - level five Open Group Rides will be invitational only. You will need to have proved your skills and fitness at level four or through a Private Group Ride before you will receive an invite. The aim of the invitational system is to ensure that level five riders are well matched in their ability so as to keep a constant pace and allow the group to take on the most challenging routes.

As well as Private Group Rides and a full schedule of Open Group rides , due to high demand for all female groups we will be offering a new category of ride:

XY Skills Sessions = Ladies' Only: These sessions are for Ladies who like the challenge of off road riding but feel more comfortable in an all girl environment. Our aim is to give you the confidence to ride terrain you'd otherwise thought beyond you and build on your skills in an environment free of male bravado and testostorone (which despite belief amonst many men are not the keys to successfull riding).

We will also be offering

Young Guns sessions : These skills based sessions will set young riders off to a great start. There is no need for pain to be a part of the learning process. Young Guns sessions are delivered in a relaxed fun environment. Riders will be grouped with other youngsters of similar age and ability

For regular riders we have extended the Frequent Flyers Scheme . More benefits are on offer this year and you'll also be able to ride with the knowledge that you are actively supporting the organisation that works so hard to keep access to the trails open. Follow the link to see how you can benefit from joining the silent revolution. As well as helping to raise funds for the Hurtwood Control, you'll be able to save every time you ride & get discounts on certain parts and apparell.
